Somewhere You Are Dancing

by Ε§΅επί

the nightfeels heavy,
the stars are few....
born with dusk, my Vigil,
now entreats the dew.

dark surrounds unyielding,
and shadows cloak my heart,
the seconds tick as eons each
dread hour we're apart.

my thoughts are unrelenting
as the moon departs the sky,
for you're dancing somewhere
in a dream my sleeplessness denies.

I concentrate to hear your voice
and wait for blessed sleep -
that once again I'll take you hand,
and given promise keep.

I close my eyes, the silence
roars... and mocks my loneliness;
accurst, I wakeful, covet cheeks
that know your breath's caress.

For somewhere you are dancing
beyond the downing moon..
in arms that surely should be mine;
that I could fly, is there still time?
to find you... none too soon.

Nay, love, I fear 'tis not to be,
for dawn is misting nigh...
the stars are gone,
the night has flown...
and the dew has found my eyes.
