The Absence

by Shannon Michaela Jaworski

The bubbleof nothing inside
longs to be refilled.
That space twists with pain.
Swirls of dust spin about and wrap
around the walls.

The absence of your touch,
your face,
your voice,
your love...
widens the gap.
My heavy heart is traveling through the pits
of my stomach,
passing my hips,
and falling into the depths of my feet.

With every step
i feel like i'm going nowhere
for i tread roughly on my
flattening heart.
It will hurt this way
until the moment
that our lips will meet again.
