My Shiny Star

For mysweet angel sent from God,
special gifts like you are rare.
I want you to know I'll always care,
no other love will compare to the love I have for you.
When you were born my dreams came true.
I want to keep you safe from the world,
but I know one day you'll be hurt by a girl.
You will have many heartaches to come,
and when they do, I'll be the one to hold you in my arms,
and keep you safe from harm.
Many wrong steps you will take, wrong turns you will make.
But I'll be there to see you through,
when this world isn't true.
I'll pick you up when you are down,
my love for you will stand its ground.
Remember, this world didn't make you, so don't let it break you,
many people will forsake you,
but wherever life's road takes you,
I'll be there to understand,
through all your troubles, I'll hold your hand.
You will never have to look very far,
I'll always love you no matter what you are,
To me you'll always be
my beautiful shiny star.
