Vance Story 2

Sent in by Kristy Thompson

Linda was reallybegining to believe that this wasn't Vance. How could it be. Whywould he want to do her any harm. SO she did what her mother hadtold her to do in the begining. She went to a psycic. Now thiswoman (the psychic) right off the bat told Linda, "Mygoodness honey, you have been going through quite a bit lately.Your husband has died within the last six months". Now Lindahadn't even told this woman her name! Let alone what was going onin her life! Linda asked her what she was talking about. Thewoman says she can feel it all over her. All the frustration, sorrow, and hatred. The woman wanted to visit Lindas house (Sorryguys, I can't remember the name of the psychic). They agreed on atime and Linda left. When she got home, the house was torn apart.Furniture turned over, lamps broken, scratches on the walls.Linda basically got the idea that what ever it was in the housedidn't like her going to the psychic. But she refused to let thisdeter her. Well when the psychic visited her house, she wasgreeted by a phantom voice of an English Gentleman. She hadknocked and he had told her to come in. Once she entered thehouse she felt (so she told Linda later) a very cold presence.Linda came out of the kitchen about this time and was startled tofind the woman in her living room. "I didn't even hear youknock." The psychic told her what happened and Linda agreed. She had often heard the English man. Linda told the psycic thatthat spirit was nice. He had alway told communcated to her whenVance was alive. He let her when she was burning something on thestove or her clothes were done. However she hadn't heard him in along while. The psychic looked around for about 10 minutes andthen abruptly stopped. She turned around and was sheet white. Shelooked at Linda and said "you need to get out of this houseas soon as possible". When Linda inquired as to what thewoman had felt, she said "come to my house and we will talkabout it. We need to go". Linda followed the woman back toher home (her home is where Linda went to see her in the firstplace). When they got there, the woman told Linda that she wasright. The spirit in the house was not that of Vance. It was ofthe englishman. However, there were other spirits in the house, but they were minor. The englishman was the most powerful. Thepsychic had felt that when Vance was alive, the spirit had takena liking to Linda. And when he died, the englishman would justtook his place. Played like it was Vance. When the psychic wentback to when the spirit began to be...well mean, Linda realizedthat that was about the time she began to go out more withfriends . The psychic told her that the spirit became jealous.Linda asked the woman why she had become so pale as she waswalking around the house. The psycic replies,"He told me toleave you alone, that you were his. I felt it throughout my bodymy body, all the hatred. You need to stay away from that house."Well Linda agreed and decided to stay the night with Vancesparents. But she had to get some clothes and things from thehouse, so she called a male friend, whom she worked with, to goback to her house with her. When they got there the house was, once agian, in ashambles. Rex (her male friend) was amazed to seethe condition of the house. He had never believed in ghosts, andstill wasn't sure. He had asked her if it was possible thatsomeone might be playing a joke on her (she hadn't really filledhim in on all of the details). She dismissed this idea at onceand told him if he heard the whole story he would understand. Sohe asked to hear it. They sat down at the dinning table (Ithought this was stupid, I would have talked in the car or on theway to my Aunt and Uncles, not in the house) and Linda began herlong story of Vances' life, death, and the events afterwards. Hewas full of questions and comments and before they knew it it was1:00am (they started talking around 6:00p.m.). Linda, realizingthe time, suggested that they should get going. As they stood upfrom the table, there was faint sound from front door (which wasto the left of them). As they both looked at the door, the soundgot louder and louder. It was as if someone(or something) wasfirst tapping, then knocking, then pounding, then slamming intothe door. Rex started over to the door to see whom, or what, wasslamming into the door. But just when he was about to open thedoor, the entire door came off of the hinge and was.......wellkinda sucked out about 5 feet. But the stained glass window, which was in the center of the door, stayed in its place. Itnever moved. Then suddenly, as fast as it was sucked out, it wassucked right back into it's place. Rex about shit his pants. Hewanted to leave right then, no later.

Linda was hurring to get her things together, but while she wasdoing this, the electricity went out. Rex was ready to bolt. There was no moon, and in the country there are no street lights. It was pitch black. Linda began looking for a flashlight, butsince the house had been ransacked, she had trouble finding herbed in the dark. They decided to go. But the car wouldn't start.Rex was really freaking out now. He was babbling uncontrollably. Then all of a sudden, he screamed, "I'll leave her alonejust let me go!" At that moment the car started and Lindatook off down the dirt driveway. Linda never went back. My auntand uncle had a priest come out and he blessed the house (I haveno idea what that entails). They were the ones whom clearedeverything out of it and sold it. They had no problems while theywere there. Who knows maybe the blessing worked. I would like toget ahold of the new owners and see if they have had any weirdthings happen. Linda tried to talk to Rex after the incident. Buthe would have nothing to do with her. She would call and he wouldhang up. She would try to talk to him at work but he alwaysshrugged her off. Finally she gave up. However, about 2 yearsago, she recieved a letter from him (she had moved to northernCalifornia and remarried). It said he was sorry for turning hisback on her after the incident at her house. He was afraid thatif he talked to her that the spirit would "get him". Heexplained that while he was at her house that night, when thedoor was sucked out and sucked back in, he was hearing voiceseverywhere. They were telling him to stay away from her. ThatLinda was theirs. That if he didn't they would kill him, or drivehim mad. That is why he had ignored her. Linda understood andwrote him to tell him so. Neither Linda, Rex, or any of my familyhas ever been bothered agian.

Whew! Man my hands hurt from typing.
Well I hope it was worth the wait.
