Yeater Furniture
Okay I will startby telling you that I am not a journalist by any means so thisstory might be a little rough around the edges. But is completelytrue to my knowledge and those who share my dorm.
I attend Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg,Missouri. There are quite a few stories floating about and I willtell you a few of the most frightening. All of these stories arerelated to 2 separate dorms on campus Ellis Complex and YeaterHall, but I will only tell the ones about Yeater in this message.
Story 1
Yeater Hall was built in the early 40's. It has always been afemale dorm and I have lived here for the past 2 years. My firstyear there were only 28 girls living in Yeater and we all livedon the main floor, the upper two floors were padlocked shut andno one could get in. My friend Sarah was the first person tonotice the lights. On certain nights you could look out yourwindow and see lights on in a room on the third floor. The firsttwo times it happened Sarah called the front desk and they justtold her she was seeing things. It wasn't until some of thecampus security guards saw the lights on rounds that thingsstarted to get strange. They would see lights, get the keys, goup to the third floor and turn them off. By the time they gotback down stairs the lights would be back on again. They finallygave up and left them alone. Every night around 10pm the lightswould go on but they would be off by morning. No one really knowswhy the lights go on and off but they won't open up the 3rd floorno matter how crowded the dorm gets.
Story 2
This story is also about Yeater Hall and involves my friend Sarah.Last year Sarah lived in Rm 137 and she would hear noises comingfrom the room above her, like the furniture was being movedaround. I didn't really believe her until I stayed the night inher room one night and was woken up in the middle of the night bythe sound of moving furniture. It really freaked me out and thenext day I talked to the Residence Hall Director and we went upto the second floor to see if someone had somehow gotten in there. The door was padlocked and John (the RHD) was the only one withkeys and he hadn't been up there since the beginning of theschool year. When we reached the room that is above Sarah's weopened the door and were hit in the face with a blast of coldair, we looked around and noticed that all the furniture wasstacked on top of each other. The two desks were together withone upside-down on the other and the beds bunked. We took the twodesks apart and put the beds on different sides of the room likethey are supposed to be.
That night I stayed in Sarah's room again, my roommate and I gotinto a fight, and again around 1am I heard the sound of furniturebeing moved around I immediately woke Sarah up and we went to getJohn. He was in his room and had his keys so we knew no one couldhave gotten up there. We agreed that we would wait until morningto go up. That morning we met in John's room and went upstairs. As we reached the room and was caught in this deep feeling ofdread. John opened the door and looked back at me in amazement. All the furniture was stacked on top of each other again, well totell the truth this freaked Sarah and me out and we ran back downthe stairs and left John to lock the doors. John has no idea howthe furniture got moved. He was the only one with keys and he hasthem with him at all times.
Well that is it for Yeater.
