Weird Apartment

Sent in by Shannon

To the best of myknowledge this story is completely true. When my father( John )and my mother( peti) were first living together, they moved intoan old house in Barberton with there two friends ( Jerry &Sharol). They were informed that the house used to be oldBarberton Hospital and the morgue used to be in the basement.

None of them were really bothered with the idea so they moved in.This house was separated into apartments, upstairs was my mom anddad's and downstairs was Jerry And sharol's. They noticedsomething was strange the very first night they moved in.

The door to the basement had a double deadbolt lock on it andonly Jerry had the key it. Also there was a staircase leading tothe upstairs apartment that also had a lock on it from my parentsside of the door. When the two couples got up the next morning, both the doors were unlocked. No one confessed to doing theunlocking. About 3 days later, mom and Sharol were sitting in theliving room drinking coffee when mom caught a glance at the wall.In the plaster, there was just the faintest outline of a face. Itwas more it a shadow in the wall itself. It was so dim that theythought someone had drawn it there. So Jerry sanded down the walla little bit and plastered over it and painted it. But when thepaint began to dry, they saw the face clearer than before. Thethought well, it was just not sanded down far enough or somethingso they repeated the prosses. This time the face came back quiteclearly. ( I've seen pictures of it). My dad wanted to rip outthe wall and find out what was behind it but Jerry said " NOWAY"! It was his apartment so dad had to respect his wishes. So they left it alone. Then the doors started to slam at night.Even the ones that were supposed to be shut and locked. You couldhear footsteps running up and down the basement stairs.Scratching sounds could be heard coming from the attic. One nightmy mom and dad were watching tv and heard footsteps running upthe stairs to the attic and the door slammed. Dad thought someonemight have broken in ( he couldn't see the stairs from the livingroom). So he jumped up and ran up the stairs after the guy, onlyto find that no one was up there. He tore through everything inthat attic and it was on the third floor( so they couldn't havejumped out). Where did they go? The final straw happened when afriend came over to visit. Jerry said he had an old lamp thatthis guy, Mark, could have.

Mark had heard the stories about the house and was not afraid ofit at all. He was a truck driver, a Harley Davidson , beerdrinking kind of man. He stood about 6'4" tall and weighedabout 320, so there weren't many things in this world that wouldscare him. So when Jerry said the lamp was in the attic, Markdidn't think twice about going up there. The next thing they knewMark came running down the stairs, white as a ghost, and ran outthe door without even a goodbye. They called him later and thisis what he told them,:

" I walked up the stairs to the attic and I felt likesomeone was pushing my up the stairs. Like they were standingright behind me pushing me as they went up. I thought myimagination was getting the better of me so i ignored it. Then, Isaw the lamp. It was just what I needed and you guys had evenplugged it in so I could see how pretty it was when it was on. Itshined so brightly that I was worried about burning myself on itto carry it down. So went to unplug it just to find it wasn'tplugged in at all! The cord was wrapped neatly around the bottomand bound with a rubber band. You can keep your lamp and I'mnever coming over again until you move."

They all though it was a good idea so they found other apartmentsand got out of there The house still stands and people are livingthere. I've always wanted to go there and ask them if anythinghas happened to them yet.
