U-Shaped Ghost
In June 1995 Isighted an apparition at my brother's house in Manassas, VA.Three of us had gone onto the front porch, it was around 11PM anddark out except for the front porch light. After steping on theporch my nieces husband David said,looking across the road,"what's that light?". At the same time I too saw thelight. It looked like an inverted "U", with circleswhere eyes might be and two triangles below each circle. Thetriangles were elongated with the point down so they lookedsomewhat like tears. (At least I thought so.) The apparition wasabout 2ft X 1.5ft and perhaps 3-4ft off the ground. It was dimlyilluminated and the circle and triangle shapes were a littledarker than the "body" of the apparition so they couldbe easily distinguished. It did not look like reflected light. Itappeared for about 5 seconds or so, then disappeared. Long enoughto get a good look at it.
It was very quite and dark out that night. My brothers housefaces and is across the road from ! ! an abandoned cemetery. Thesighting looked like it was on the edge of the road and thecemetery is about 3-4ft from the road. The cemetery is completelyabandoned and uncared for. Some of the grave markers have thelast name Fair, one 12 year old girl is buried there named PearlFair. Other markers are just a piece of slate in the ground withno writting on them that can be seen. There is also a story oftwo brothers buried there who killed each other over a woman.( Idon't know if that is a true story or not.)
The man who lived on one side of the cemetry had his workshopnear the edge of the cemetery and had died there a few yearseariler. My brother thinks the road passing by the cemetery mayhave been built right over the cemetery since it is so close tothe road. I probably would not have thought much of the sightinghad it been a cloud or mist without form, but what I saw did haveshape and symmetry, in fact it displayed bilateral symmetrycommon in most organisms. The ot! ! her person on the porch withme that night could not describe what I saw, although he saw alight also. I don't know what it was we saw that night, but itseemed paranormal to me. I remember I had an uneasy feeling afterseeing this thing. As I said this took place in Manassas, VA.However, we were several miles from the famous Civil Warbattlefield, so I don't think there is any connection there. Thesighting was something I'll never forget and am planning on goingto the cemetery to take photos to see if anything shows up onfilm.
