Scary Ghost Stories
Pub Room
A few years ago, a friend took over running an old local pub and as such always offered us a roof over our head whenever we were in town. This pub was originally a 17th century coach stop, and so has a bit of history to it.
Myself and my wife had been out most of the night, and had had one or two too many! We decided to crash out for the night, and left the group we were with downstairs in the bar.
I zonked straight out to sleep, but the next thing I knew was that there was a very loud banging coming from the radiator. I'm not just talking about a banging, I mean a BANGING. Unfortunately this upset my wife, who decided to cling to my back...and so brought me to, but not in a good mood, as I'm sure you can imagine.
"What's that noise?" she said, "just an old central heating system, go back to sleep" replied I. A bit unconvinced, she settled down to sleep. Just then the duvet flew away from the bed... or nearly...I caught the corner of it, still being 99% drunk shouted PISS OFF, wrapped the duvet around me and crashed out again.
The next morning we talked about what had happened, and realised that noone could have pulled the covers away. After speaking to my friend, he told us that no one goes into that room, but he had put us in there to see if anything had happened! After having had several staff walk out after various experiences!!
Not too pleased I went home, and still dwell on what could have happened if I hadn't have had a few too many beers.
As an aside, lately the brewery have refurbished the pub into an Irish theme bar, totally destroying the character/feeling, and as far as I know, nothing has happened since.
Sorry to have prattled on a bit, but it is a genuine story and I think worthy of contributing.
