Scary Ghost Stories
Old House
My name is Shanna and my grandmother just told me an interesting story that happened to her a long time ago and I thought maybe I would share it with you.
My grandmother and her family (Husband, Son, Daughter) were out on their motorcycles near the Rio Grande river near the border of Texas and Mexico. Now during the summer the Rio Grande river is dried up and during the winter it had water in it....well, this took place at summer time....so basically, it was dried up. They got off of their motorcycles and thought it would be cool to walk up the river since it was dried up and everything so all that was there was like little plots of water here and there so they started walking.
Soon on down the river they were in the woods and in mountains. They looked up on a hill in the woods and saw a old, old house and thought it would be cool to go take a look at it...well, they walked to it and there was 4 long poles with a top ontop of the poles and under it was a old, old car so basically, it was like a garage....now this car was like those old timey looking cars they had a long, long time ago (I think you get my drift) and it had plants growing all over it because it had been there for years and years without being moved.
Then they saw the house and went around it and the door was opened. So, they went in. Now, we are talking way back then when they didn't even have bathrooms in a house. Well, anyway to get back to the story, there was furniture and in the 2 bedrooms there were the man's clothes hung up and ready to wear and in the kitchen there was food. Now, you would think someone lived here...but no one did. There was the daily paper on the table and a old, old stove and they didn't have a refrigerator because this is an old house and they didn't have those kind of things back then.
Well, the food looked fresh...but was old. This was a old, abandoned house. There was trees growing all over it and everything. The house looked like one of those old, logged cabins back in the old times. My grandma then started feeling a weird feeling like they better get out of there or something is going to happen. It looked like someone had lived there...but you could tell no one did...because it was abandoned and you could tell that.
So they left everything the way it was and they didn't want to take anything because they wouldn't feel right because apparently this house had belonged to someone back a long time ago. They started walking back down the river and there was some people down there and they asked them about the old house and they said, A long time ago, the indians believed that when someone died they were to leave everything the way it was...the furniture the clothes...Everything and NO ONE was to go in the houses or disturb them...and my grandmother did. So someone could have died there or could have been taken out of their house and killed or anything could have happened...but that house was definitly abandoned. The old car was still under the tin roof of the little 4 pole garage. Everything was just the same. There were no roads or anything to connect the house to any kind of street or dirt path
She is not sure if the house is still there today, but it was there back in the 70s because that it when they went to the house. If I could go re-visit the house....I would. I thought the story was interesting so I thought I would share it with people.
