Troll Dream

Sent in by Lex

Hello if you thinkthis true story fits on your page please post it as I would liketo know if anyone else remembers a dream like this:

When I was 11 years old we moved from Louisville, KY to a newhouse in Lexington, KY. The house has always felt a bit "strange"even though it was newly built and we were the first occupantsand rumor had it that the neighborhood was built on an old indianburial ground or hunting ground, depending upon who tells thestory. May just be a typical "neighborhood rumor" butthe builders did find many Indian artifacts while excavating thenew constructions and that fact is confirmed. Otherwise, the only"confirmable" history about the neighborhood was thatit was that it was subdivided from a large old farm in the 1970's,with the old farmhouse remaining as one of the houses in theneighborhood [when I was an older teen I occasionally babysat atthe old farmhouse, and was never comfortable there for a reason Istill remember but cannot articulate].

Anyway, shortly after moving into the new house, I dreaded goingto sleep because I began having a dream where I was walking on apath in the woods and suddenly, out of nowhere, I would turn andsee a very evil, malevolent "troll" looking creature--- I can still see it to this day --- it was slightly under 4feet tall and appeared to be an old man with a grey beard wearinga dark green elf-like suit with a large pointed "witch type"hat. This figure never did anything except stand there but Ialways saw it "suddenly" and awoke in a cold, horrifiedsweat. The worst thing was, after I'd had this same dream thefirst couple of times I subsequently became horrified in my sleepwhen this dream started because in the dream I knew I was goingto see this figure --- it was very weird because even in thedream I somehow knew how it was going to end, if that makes senseand it made the "dream" even more horrific because Iknew it would culminate with me suddenly seeing the horriifyingfigure. The "troll figure" never did anything more thanstand there but my terror was so strong upon its suddenappearance that I always awoke before it had a chance do doanything other than "appear" [which was bad enough].The next "weird" experience was awaking one night to goto the bathroom and seeing a HUGE spider on the carpet thatlooked like a giant black widow but was too big to be real --- itwas "hand-sized" and we have no spiders like thataround here. I was not intoxicated or dreaming and I remembercarefully opening the door and stepping around it, and thebedroom light was on and the bedroom brightly lit so it was noillusion. When I returned from the bathroom it was gone.

I would appreciate feedback from anyone else who had a similarexperiences.
