French House
About four yearsago when I was 13 my family and I moved out to live in France. Iwasn't too happy about it and went with a pretty pessimisticattitude. I felt a bit happier when I saw the actual housethough, it was quite old but big and spacious with a swimmingpool.
The way the house was set up I was the only person with anupstairs bedroom and consequently became the last to experienceany of the "hauntings". A few days after we had movedin my mum and Dad complained of the music that they has heardearly in the morning, because it had been slow, classical musicmy sister was blamed, she denied it but none of us beleived heruntil she pointed out that her cassete/radio wouldnt work inFrance anyway because it had not yet been given a French plug.
Even though we were about half a mile away from the nearestneighbours, we dismissed it as someone else and forgot about it.
Shortly after it happened again and then became a regularoccurence. This continued until one day my dad came and said heneeded to have a word with me. He said he had seen the figure ofa young girl (of about 4 or 5 years) flitting between the chairsin the sitting room. He made me promise not to tell my brother orsister as they would obvoiusly be scared.
As I was sleeping upstairs away from the sitting room I wasnt toobothered about this but one night after drinking too much Coke Iwoke up needing the loo, as the only loo is downstairs Iproceeded to descend. It was only when I reached the kitchen thatI heard the music. I had only heard it once before but I was alot closer now and realised that it was very tinny and oldsounding.
Before I had moved I saw the outline of a figure slowly movingtowards me from the back doors of the living room (which backedout onto the pool) even though I realised what was going on, myfirst thought was that she seemed to be going a lot slower thanmy dad had described. As the figure (which was only an outlineclose up even) reached the kitchen the music stopped and thefigure vanished.
It turns out that some 5 years before a family had been round tosee the old owners and the girl had fallen into the deep end ofthe pool (although she had not drowned, the pool had been emptyand although it was only an 8 foot fall she had landed akwardlyand broken her neck). I dont know where the music came fromthough.
I dont go to the house anymore as I have to work in England butmy family still complain of the strange music.
