Texas House
At risk of soundingmentally unstable, i will share with you some of the thingsmyself and family experienced in our rented house in northaustin, over a 2 or 3 year period beginning in 89. please feelfree to be as skeptical as you want. if you have rationalexplanations for these events, more power to you. i do not wantto believe i lived somewhere haunted, but after you read this, you'll have to decide for yourselves.
first, a word about the house-- very boring, early 70s looking.to face it, there was a garage on the right side, and inset, themain door next to very tall windows that line the wall (you enterthrough the dining room) and then, going left, more white stonefacing (that's the corner bedroom). i was away at school when myparents moved in, and when went to visit for the first time, drove into the neighborhood, saw it and hoped to God that wasn'ttheir house; just had a bad feeling.
I stayed in the front corner bedroom, which was always very cold. One night, when the heat was going full blast, my mom and I tookturns testing the vent-- we stood on a chair with our hand to it,to see that it was blowing warm air. It was, up to about 18inches from the wall, where it suddenly went ice cold. Very odd,but i'm not an electrician, so maybe there's a reason for that.In addition, the bathroom adjacent's light seemed to come on ofits own volition, when i was sure i'd turned it off. again, maybethat can be explained, even though it happened when i was alone.
On the other side of the wall from the bedroom was the diningroom, whose front wall was lined with windows. One night, i wasgoing to bed around 11 and checking the lights when, from where iwas standing in the hallway 10 ft. from the windows, i sawsomething very bizarre. It appeared to be a long black cloak, like a vampire's or something (for lack of a less cheesydescription), hanging from the curtain rod, next to the frontdoor. i stared at it, trying to figure out what kind of a trickof light that could be. but it was definitely too solid to be atrick, so i guessed someone must have hung their coat there (why, who could say) and i turned on the light to check. of course, there was nothing there. "What a wierd shadow," ithought, and flipped off the light. There was no shadowwhatsoever this time. Years later i was in a nj library, readinga book about a woman who experienced some stuff in her home-- youcan imagine the chill i had when i read that the negative entitythere appeared in a long black cloak--
Another time, my dad got mad at me for making noise upstairs (creepyrec room/attic space) when i had been in bed at that time, butmaybe that was mice.
Several really bad things happened in the family when livingthere-- deaths, financial losses, etc.
And something EXTREMELY disturbing that i won't go into becausemy daughter wants attention. i haven't told many people about itanyways.
Well, there you are.
