Wilbur Return
Last summer my 18year old cat Wilbur had to be euthanized. Wilbur developed cancerof the jaw and was fading fast and this was the only humane thingI could do. He had been my cat/friend for 17 years and it was ahard decision.
I held him at the Vet's office and told him I loved him and towait for me in the white light in Heaven and not to forget me.Wilbur expired quickly and gently in my arms.
Two weeks one evening, my brother and I were watching televisionand it became real quiet. He was holding one of the two remainingcats and the other being outside behind a closed door. Duringthis odd stillness, the cat being held, Flossie, began strainingto look towards the kitchen over Robert's shoulder. The sectionalcouch we sat on is high, completely obstructing vision.
From the kitchen we heard the soft thump of a cat jumping downonto the floor. Wilbur had a habit of pulling his waterdishacross the floor and that was the next sound we heard. The dishwent across the floor for about 10 seconds. We heard next thebottom cabinet doors open softly, a habit Wilbur had had.
The stillness stopped and we both looked at each other andimmediately confirmed what the other had heard. The two remainingcats were accounted for and definitely not in the kitchen. Itseemed to have been a return visitation experienced jointly. Wethink it was Wilbur returning, letting his human friends know hestill existed and was thinking of us.
I have been a member of a Spiritualist Church for many years andknow from personal experience that there is continuance ofpersonality for all of the Creator's children, be they on twolegs or four.
Many times there during Open Circle gatherings, it is not unusualfor the room temperature to drop. I have wondered if energy formanifestation is being taken from the immediate vicinity.
