September 13th

Sent in by Diane Haddon

I don't know ifthis is a ghost story or an Angel on Earth but I would like totell if you will indulge me.

My aunt Florence was a very healthy, very active 82 year oldwoman. She live in Arizonia and was learning to fly a small twinengine plane so she could take tourists on ariel tours of lakeHavisu and London Bridge. Anyway, on Sept. 13, 1983, Florece cameback from flying lessions and stopped at the local grocrery store. She made her purchases and while she was loading the bags in hercar she fell down, dead. There was no evidence of disease, heartfailure, or stroke. The doctors called it advance age and left italone.

About three months after this incident my mother, Lill, wasdignosed with cancer. She and my father lived in San Jose,Califoria and I lived in Los Angles, so I had to depend ontelephone contact. My mom held up for three years before becomingincapacitaed and hospitalized. I was angry and frustrated becauseI did not know exactly what was going. I went to work the eveningof Sept. 12, 1987, praying that I would be able to get an airlineticket to leave the next morning. Coming home at 10:00 pm thatnight I pulled into the turn lane, preparing to get on thefreeway when I saw a flicker to my right. I turned to look andthere sat my Aunt Florence in the passenger seat. She smiled atme and said " I had to go first so I could get things readyfor your Mom, She is coming home, you know, and Papa Red (Florence'shusband) and I will be here to welcome her. Don't worry, Diane, she is ready to leave." Then Florence was gone. I satthrough a few cycles at the light before someone honked and Iwent on home. I remember going to bed around 11:00. I woke up atmidnight to sounds of giggleing coming from my children's bedroom.I went down the hall and saw all three of them sitting up intheir beds. "Guess what Mommy!" whispered Alan (he wasthree and a half at the time). "What?" I whispered back.He giggled delightly and said "Grandmommy was here to saygoodnight!" Then my two year old daughter, Shannon, shouts" And you know what else!" "Tell me." I said."She had WINGS." they both shouted togeather, whilebaby Eric clapped his hands and laughed as only a very happy babycan. I picked Eric up and sat down in the ro! ! cking chair, theother two sqeezed in next to me. The telephone rang about 20minetes later. I walked over to it, picked it up and asked "when?"My Dad only hasitated a second, "12:01 a.m. September 13."
