Haunted Flat
I have had many"ghostly" experiences through the years and I canhonestly say that none of them were malevolent. The scariestthing about them was knowing someone else was there that youcouldn't see.
Years ago my husband and I moved into an upper flat on LucilleAvenue in Elgin, Illinois. From the moment we moved in we feltlike we were being watched by someone sitting in the gold chairin the livingroom (it came with the apartment). I would move thechair around the room and we still felt someone watching us fromthat chair!!! It was nerve wracking to say the least. I waspregnant at the time and was home during the day when my husbandwas working. One day I heard what sounded like an elderly woman'svoice calling my name from the back bedroom in the apartment...Iturned the TV up louder so I couldn't hear it. On anotheroccasion I was talking to a friend on the phone when we heard aclick, I told her someone was on her other phone listening to us...shesaid "I do not have another phone"...I put the phonedown and walked down the hall (we had 3 phones) and checked theextra bedroom phone, it was on the hook...then I checked thephone in the master bedroom..the phone handset was laying on thebed!!!! I told my husband that the apartment was haunted and hetold me I was imagining things. Two nights later he woke me up inthe middle of the night and yelled for me to turn on the lights..hesaid someone was sitting on his side of the bed. I turned thelights on and looked, no one was there but there was anindentation on the bed. We lived on the 2nd floor and the bed waspushed up against the wall so no one could fit in that space tosit down. We started having marriage problems shortly after that, and our wedding picture would not stand upright on the TV,everytime I walked out of the room and came back in, our picturewas laying face down on the TV. I checked the frame and hingethat held the stand, and it was fine. The picture would stand uptil I left the room then be lying down when I returned.
On another occasion, I had gone to bed waiting for my husband toreturn home from work, when I heard the front door open andclose, footsteps coming up the stairs, the closet opening andsomeone pulling on a hanger, then walking into the livingroom andplopping down on a bean bag chair (unmistakable sound!) Iwondered why he hadn't come in the bedroom and I went to thelivingroom to find everything dark...no car in the driveway, nocoat in the closet, no one sitting in the beanbag chair..I wasthere alone!!!! We moved out shortly later. A little footnote: Ifound out later on, the same time the wedding picture startedfalling on the TV, my husband had started having an affair with awoman he was working with. I feel somehow that my invisibleguests were trying to let me know.
I have many more experiences to share....later on!!!!
