For fine hair, rinse shampoo completely and use conditioner sparingly.

Blow dry hair in the opposite direction of your style for more lift.

Apply concealer after foundation. Use a concealer one shade lighter than your foundation.

When using mascara, gently insert the wand. Pumping the wand forces air inside and will cause the mascara to dry out.

To make your nail polish last longer, dip fingernails in a bowl with 1/2 cup of water and 2 teaspoons of vinegar. Dry and then apply polish.

To find your natural blush color, look at your cheeks after exercising.

For a longer holding curl, spray dry hair with hair spray before using a curling iron or hot rollers. Let hair completely cool before styling.

To repair nail polish chips, take a cotton swab dipped in nail polish remover and swab the edges of the chipped area until smooth. Reapply polish.

A few thin coats of nail polish will give you better coverage, dries faster and lasts longer.

If you ever run out of lipstick or need a new shade in a hurry, try crumbling up a cute eye shadow color and then mixing it with a little Vaseline. Put it on your lips and you'll look like a million bucks!

If you have hard water or lead in your water- add a small amount of vinegar to your bath water. This helps a lot!

To prevent lipstick feathering, first use a lip liner and apply powder over your foundation.

When coloring your hair, use a petroleum product around the face to prevent the dye from staining your skin and always wear gloves.

Use a good quality set of makeup brushes for applying makeup. Tap off the excess makeup before applying.

Use Vaseline on lips to keep them glistening.

Regular trims are essential for premed hair to make the perm last longer and styling will be easier.

Use a diffuser to dry premed hair for curly styles or air dry. For more relaxed styles, finish drying with a blow dryer.

Matte and long wearing lipsticks can be much too dry.

For color treated hair, use a shampoo and conditioner made for color treated hair. Use a hairspray or sprits with sunscreen and moisturizers.

To control static and fly away hair, spray your brush with hairspray and brush through your hair.

Use soft or darker colors on large and open eyes. Bright colors will emphasize the fullness.

Never brush wet hair, use a wide tooth comb. Start at the ends working your way to the scalp.

After your last coat of nail polish, apply a small amount of olive oil. The polish will dry quickly and be smudge free.

If you have small eyes, use lighter or brighter eye shadow colors.

Never shake your bottle of nail polish. Roll it between the palms of your hands to prevent bubbles.

Don't file nails after they have been in water. They will be too soft and split.

Use light colors on deep-set eyes. Light colors will bring them out.

If you're over forty and wear makeup just put liner on your top lid, never on the bottom.

As both a freelance makeup artist and Clinique consultant...I've learned a lot thru my work For tired eyes...sweep white eye shadow or pencil in the inner bottom and top lids of the eyes. it really does bring out the whites of the eyes and "wakes up the whole face" Foundation: if you feel your foundation gets cakey during the day, mix it with a moisturizer in the palm of your hand (for dry skin) or an oil-free lotion (like Clinique's skin texturing lotion) to get a smoother, longer lasting finish. For extra shiny hair, use condensed milk for conditioning your hair and rinse well. The protein in the milk will bring out the shine.

To have silky hands, place 1/2 teaspoon sugar in the palm of your hand and add baby or mineral oil. Massage hands for a few minutes and thoroughly wash with soapy water.

No time to wash your hair, try this! Sprinkle cornstarch on your hair and brush out. To remove more oil and dirt, put a nylon stocking over the bristles of your brush and brush through again.

Almost every woman, no matter her age or hair type, will look flattering with hair lengths from the chin to just above the shoulders.

When growing out bangs, have your stylist add a few long, angled layers around your face. As the bangs grow out, they will blend in with the angled layers.

Apply foundation lightly. Heavy coverage will emphasizes lines and wrinkles.

When choosing a new style, make sure it will fit your lifestyle. Also be sure you will be able to duplicate the style at home.

When applying blush, use your blush brush to apply small, half-moon shaped strokes. Starting at your hairline toward your cheekbone, keep blush on the cheekbone. Do not apply close to the nose or lower than the bottom of the nose.

Use lemon juice or vinegar on age spots to help them fade.

Use powder to set your makeup. It will help your foundation and blush last longer and reduce shine.

Place an ice cube on a blemish for a little bit and it will reduce some of the redness and swelling. Not a cure, but a quick fix.

Oily skin can darken blush. If your skin is oily, choose a shade slightly lighter than the end result you want to achieve.

For longer lasting eye shadow, apply foundation and powder to your lids before applying your eye shadow.

Don't use nail polish remover more than once a week, as it is very drying.

For dry hair, open a vitamin E capsule and add it to your shampoo once a
week.

For a very fine point on your eye liner, place in the freezer for a few minutes before sharpening.

To make lips look fuller, use pale shades of lipstick and lip liner.

I wash my hair with dishwashing liquid. It works just as well as shampoo, you just have to remember to use conditioner after.

When applying eye shadow, use a lighter shade on the entire lid and the skin right under the brow and then take a brush or applicator and use a darker shade in the crease of your eyelid. This works with any family of colours as long as you use the darker shade in the crease.

You can soften the sharpness of your eyeliner by using your eye shadow brush with a little powder shadow of a similar shade.

Got puffy eyes? Spritz eye area with water. Slice 1/4 of a potato to fit over your eyes. Lying down, place potato slices on your eyelids and leave in place for at least 10 minutes for best results to help tighten puffy eyes.
